The Recording Academy has added new members to its voting body: singer-songwriter/producer Park Jinyoung (JYP), as well as all members of Stray Kids and TWICE.
According to The Korea JoongAng Daily, invitations were also extended to JYP Entertainment executives Jung Wook and Shin Hyun-guk.
As a result, each now holds the power to vote on Grammy nominees and winners starting with the 69th Grammy Awards, which will take place in 2027.

Grammy Shake-ups
Recently, the Grammys caused quite a stir with their announcement of a new category at next year’s award ceremony.
According to the Recording Academy, the ‘Best Asian Pop Music Performance’ award recognizes the growing global impact of Asian pop music. It’s one of five new categories being introduced in 2027, alongside ‘Best Latin Song’ and ‘Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance.’
Following the announcement on social media, however, many voiced their displeasure.
In a co-op, Teen Vogue contributor Ayan Artan called the new asian music award “just another form of segregation,” citing the Grammys’ history of isolating artists of color from major categories.
Nominations for all five new categories will be revealed in November 2026, and the 69th Grammy Award ceremony will take place on February 2, 2027.
