Yoo Ah-In may be returning to the big screen following a three-year break.
Multiple outlets have reported that the actor may be returning to the big screen in a new film called “Vampire.” The project will be directed by Jang Jae-hyun, who also directed the Korean occult film “Exhuma.”
According to StarNews, rumors previously circulated suggesting Yoo was taking on a lead role in Jang’s film. However, his agency vehemently denied the rumors, stating, “Nothing has been decided yet.”
This role would mark Yoo’s first new project in three years.
Hiatus
Yoo stepped back from the entertainment industry following his conviction on drug-related charges. Last year, the “Veteran” actor was sentenced to one year in prison (two years suspended) for allegedly consuming marijuana, as well as administering medical drugs and other substances.
As a result, he was absent from the promotional period for his 2025 film, “Hi-Five,” and subsequently disappeared from the spotlight altogether.
News of Yoo’s potential comeback has earned mixed reactions from fans. However, nothing has been confirmed yet by Yoo’s agency or the film’s director.
