On Jun 26, ATEEZ released their new album, Golden Hour: Part.5. The record comprises five new tracks, including the title track, “BAD,” which features actress Chase Infiniti as the group’s leading lady.
The “One Battle After Another” star is the center of attention as each group member works to capture her attention through dance.
Fan Reception
ATEEZ’s fans, known as ATINY, have been responding enthusiastically to the feature. Many have even pointed out the significance of a Black actress being cast in a K-pop music video.
One Threads user wrote, “Woke up this morning and broke out in tears. Chase Infiniti, a Black woman, in a K-pop video as the FMC? To some this just seems like another music video, to others this kind of representation means everything!”
Another remarked, “Representation matters & for so many Black KPop fans who have spent years supporting the industry while often being overlooked, dismissed or disrespected within fandom spaces, this moment feels incredibly special.”
Infiniti has spoken with the media about her love of K-pop music on numerous occasions while promoting “One Battle After Another.”
Streaming/Charting
So far, ATEEZ’s “BAD” video has racked up 12 million views on YouTube and over 290,000 likes.
It’s too early to say what the group’s charting will look like for their latest EP. However, the group’s last album, Golden Hour: Part.4, topped Billboard’s albums sales chart.
The project finished at No. 3 overall on the Billboard 200.
