It looks like “Michael” won’t stop til it gets enough.
According to Deadline, the movie has now raked in over $900 million at the box office worldwide, becoming Lionsgate’s highest-grossing movie ever. Some critics believe it may even cross the $1 billion mark if it keeps up its momentum.
The film, which made over $97 million in the U.S. during its opening weekend, is set to premiere in Japan on Jun 12.
“Michael” stars pop singer Jaafar Jackson in his first-ever acting role.
Jackson, son of Jermaine Jackson and entrepreneur Alejandra Oaziaza, acts alongside a star-studded cast that includes Nia Long, Colman Domingo, Larenz Tate and more.
According to IMDb, the film follows “the early life of musician Michael Jackson, from the discovery of his talent as the lead of the Jackson Five to the artist whose creative ambition fueled a pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world.”
While “Michael” continues its historic box office run, the film has reached another important milestone: its digital streaming debut.
You can now purchase or rent the film through Amazon’s Prime Video or Fandango At Home.
